Mondrian, affectionately known as Mondo, remains the most successful Cavalier I’ve ever had the honor of showing. A true showman with intelligence and heart, Mondo was ranked #1 in the AKC for three consecutive years (2008, 2009, and 2010) and set the record for most Best in Show wins by a Cavalier: 15 total. He won Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club in both 2006 and 2010, and most memorably, took home Best in Show at the AKC Cavalier National Specialty in 2010. Judges often said they knew he was their winner the moment he stepped into the ring. He charmed everyone he met, often jumping up to kiss judges during win photos. While I didn’t personally keep any of his male offspring, Mondo’s legacy lives on through his grand-pups, many of whom have gone on to significant wins in both conformation and performance.
