Piccadilly's breed name is Maxholt Special Love Story and when we met 19 years ago, a very special love story began. Besides capturing my heart immediately, he led me into the world of dogs and inspired me to become a sculptor, a profession I never dreamed of as a long term family therapist.
When I decided I wanted a dog I searched for a small breed who was good at hunting small birds, liked children and cats, and required minimal grooming. Piccadilly fit the bill exactly.
Piccadilly's ideal breed type earned him 5 breed championships. His keen intelligence and excellent nose enabled him to excel both in the hunting field and the obedience ring, where he captured 5 UD's, 2 OTch's, a UDX, and countless HITs, and an invitation to the AKC Obedience Championship June 17-18, 1995, based on his OTch points. He was the first Cavalier to be asked to participate. These combined titles span 3 countries: the USA, Canada, Bermuda, and earned him the supreme honor as the most titled Cavalier in the history of the breed in 1995.
For fun, Piccadilly played flyball, scent hurdle agility, and most canine freestyle where he danced to Handel's Water Music.
On a serious note, Piccadilly's intuitive sense and ideal temperament made him an excellent co-therapist in my past private practice and earned me the title "the dog shrink". Since then, Piccadilly had spread his charm to patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
As you have read, Piccadilly was a very special little dog and My Special Love Story! From the bottom of my heart I thank his English breeder, Mrs. Peggy Talbot.
